Adults Like to Play Too
Because of sickness in my pastor’s family I got the opportunity to preach last night. I didn’t know I was preaching until Sunday morning so I pulled out some youth lessons from the past few weeks and blended them into a message on prayer. Part of that lesson was a "match" game where teams and volunteers tried to come up with the same word. It was a simple game that demonstrates how we need to get our lives in line with God.
It was fun to watch adults get excited about playing a game. They were more into it than my students were. But here is the real cool part. When we were finished seeing them "get" the point was astounding. Teenagers are taught through those sort of creative modes all the time (or at least mine are). But for these adults they looked pleasantly surprised that the game had a point. It was very cool.
