Block Party Report
Our Block Party was very fun. I am sore today, but that isn’t a bad thing. In the end our praise band played about 20 songs and most of those had me jumping up and down, and my body isn’t as young as the rest of these guys.
The pictures below don’t do justice for how many people were there. These were just the ones that we could wrangle into coming to stand by the stage. All in all we had around 300 people and a good portion of those were people from our neighborhood. We had a big moon bounce thing and decided yesterday morning to paint faces. Both of those things went over great with the kids who came.
All in all I think it was a great experience. When we do it again I want to take 5 minutes in the morning service and give a quick lesson on how to talk to people who are visitor to our church. Too many of our church people just sat around talking to themselves and not to the visitors, but I guess you live and learn.
This week we have another outreach on Friday when we do Trunk or Treat. We are using both of these events to try to push our new Children’s Church kickoff that starts next Sunday. Things are going slowly, but it seems like there are new things happening at Calvary.
O, and Nathan was on the stage because he was singing “Jesus Loves Me.”
