Our praise band went to a neighboring county and played for a youth rally tonight. Our speakers are messing up so we borrowed some, but didn’t borrow a big enough amp too, so we had to jack the amp up all the way to push the sound to the speakers. So halfway through our third song, suddenly the sound in the speakers just shuts off. Immediately I assume we have blown a fuse or tripped a breaker, but when I look back at the board I see that the lights are still on.

What we had done was overheated our amp. When I went to move it and see if I could get some better air circulation it was so hot to the touch that it burned me. So trying to use speakers that were too big burned me, both literally and figuratively.

(and yes I did tell that whole story just so I could write that literally and figuratively line.)
