Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Armor of God

Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction and the Armor of God

Object Lessons
We are wrapping up a 10 week study on Ephesians this week with a look at the armor of God. As I was preparing for this lesson a web article that I had clipped to Evernote came back to mind and that led me to purchase Mini Weapons of Mass Destruction which is a great little book on catapults, launchers, and other "destructive" things made out of office supplies. So here is my plan. I have built one of the catapults from the book (pictured here). I am going to take that as a bit of inspiration and then pass out a collection of spoons, tongue depressors, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, paper clips and tape to teams of 3 students. Good Friday Ideas

Good Friday Ideas

Creative Worship, Good Friday Ideas, Object Lessons
I'm not really sure why more people seem to come looking for creative ideas for Good Friday more than any other day. Maybe it is because it is outside of the usual Sunday service times so people are willing to try something different. I'm not sure the reason, but I do like to make things as easy as possible for people who end up here looking for Good Friday ideas. So I decided to do what I have done the past couple of years and pull a list of some of the Good Friday ideas that I have published here over the years. Hope it helps. It is an internet project from last year that takes over 1000 singers from around the world and has them post videos on YouTube and then a team combined all of the parts into one multivoice choir to make a rather dramatic piece of music. Even a short clip of this would be great to show as an object lesson. From the description:…

Freedom Youth Object Lesson

Freedom Youth Object Lesson

Object Lessons
Here is an idea for a lesson that talks about freedom. Bible Basis: Galatians 5:1 Set Up: Gather 4 boxes and put something in them that is heavy. I used rocks, but books or any other heavy object will work. Tie the boxes to a ribbon or rope strong enough to hold it and big enough that you can attach stuff to it. Put one of the main words on each box and print the excuse for each word so that you can attach it to the ribbon while you are talking. How it Works: Get 4 volunteers to come and hold the boxes with the words on them. Talk about each box and the way that what is on the box keeps you from being free. As you are…
