We started a new gaming group on Saturday. It blended some of the old group and some new blood. The cool thing was that we added girls to the mix this time. I love role playing with girls. They really want to interact with characters not just pick up a chair and smash people all the time.
Of course the really cool thing is the fact that I get to interact with students for 3 or 4 hours. It is a great way to build relationships and all in all it has been a success. I started gaming last year to bring a couple of guys into church and one of them is coming regularly and the other one came for the first time on Wednesday.
Of course the big problem if any of you have ever played tabletop RPG’s before is that the groups can get too big very quickly. I think 6 is too many and I have like 6 other people who also want to play. The obvious answer is to start another group, but I am already fighting to find time with this one. There are only so many Saturdays my wife will let me give up to sitting around a table and rolling dice.
Oh yeah, and I forgot the rather obvious problem of playing something that was burned in the 80’s for being satanic in the church. I just know I am going to have to fight for this at some point in time. Of course it helps that it actually works, that the guys are coming to church. It is hard to argue against that.
