Decisions

It is decision time here at Nailscars.com. In case you haven’t noticed I have totally forgotten about the rest of the web site in favor of this blog. I haven’t made an update to the site as a whole in about a year. While that is true I am still paying 24 bucks a month to keep that up (I made a typo there and said 24 bucks a moth and I really wanted to keep it because the thought of paying for each web site moth (whatever that would be) is funny to me.)

So I have to decide what I am going to do. I think I am going to work on migrating all of the information on Nailscars.com over to this blog. It will hurt me because I have lived with that name and that site for so long. (Just changing my email alone will drive me crazy) but I think it is time.

What I want to know is if you guys still find use over in that place and its interface or if links here at the blog that access the same information could be just as helpful. Of course to make the switch would take work, and I’m not sure I want to do the work this month, but I will just throw it out there. Please give me your comments.

    Shane,

Why do you have to lose the domain name and e-mail addresses? Keep the domain, and just make http://www.nailscars.com your blog address. There are plenty of services out there that will convert everything over for you. Check out http://www.livingdot.com/, I think they should be able to fix you right up for a pretty reasonable price. Rumor has it that http://challies.com/ does a pretty decent job too. Anyway, just thought I’d make some suggestions. Don’t give up on the Nailscars domain, it’s yours. You own it. It’s no one else’s. Keep it.

Oh, and as for the info on your website now, just throw it all into a sidebar with links to it for now, and work on sorting it out a little at a time. That way it will all still be available to people, but you won’t have to pput in a large initial time investment to convert the site.

    My 2 cents.

I’m trying to figure out how you could possibly be paying 24 a month for a web site. Check out hostpc.com. Maybe that will fix the problem.

Yeah, Shane, I’ve got to agree with Rich. Any way you cut it, $24 a month is too much. Shop around. I think you can do better.

I think that is what I am going to do. Meredith really jumped on the idea of 25 a year so I will probably be moving the site soon. I will just need a few days without other work to do. Thanks guys!
