Diet

Alright so I know you all come to check this out to learn more about youth ministry and the whole God thing. And things are really moving over here, people are coming to church we’re worshiping, blah, blah, blah. That’s just not what I want to talk about tonight.

Tonight I want to deal with an issue of very pressing concern and that is the issue of diet food. I am trying to loose some weight these days for a couple of reasons, but probably the biggest one isn’t that I want to be healthy, but that I want to buy cool T-shirts. If you have never needed to shop in the 3XL section you won’t know that they selection of T-Shirts gets very limited up here at this level. I would love to have like a whole wardrobe of cool T-shirts from bands and concerts and cool things like a transformer logo and some old school iron on T-shirts, but they just don’t come in my size! So I am trying to loose some weight and that brings us to the issue of diet food.

I bought some lean pockets today thinking that there is nothing quite so divine as a pepperoni pizza hot pocket so really how bad could the lean ones be. Well as it turns out apparently to remove all of the bad stuff is very hard on the hot pocket and it leaves it tasting waxy and bland. So here is what I want to know why do they even make these foods. It isn’t a hot pocket it isn’t even close. It doesn’t taste good, and it even looks worse than a real hot pocket so what I am wondering is why don’t people on diets just eat vegetables and salads and stuff. Sure they may not taste good, but they are better than those abominations of nature called Lean Pockets and from what I am learning vegatbles are good for you. To me it doesn’t make sense to eat bad tasting food just because it is healthy.

Anyway, while I am talking about it I guess the hardest thing about this whole losing weight thing is the absence of caffeine. I have cut soda out of my diet to save on some calories and I am drinking water and fruit juice almost exclusively (with the exception of a Mocha every now and then) and the funny thing is I feel tired all of the time. I don’t know if it is because I really need some rest or because I took away my upper. Either way I hope I can find some energy soon. I also hope to get some quality time away from the bathroom. What with drinking 90 ounces of water and eating lots of vegetables and fruit juice I spend a good part of my day on the can. I am thinking about installing a little shelf so I can type while I am doing my business. Then I can change the name of this place to “Bathroom Blog.” It will be filled with scatological humor and Meredith and Sumer will love every minute of it.

That is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard! And it scares me that if you took the computer in there you would never come out again. I can just see you sliding your tray underneath the door asking for food.
