I honestly hadn’t heard of a controversy over this movie until I read the article linked below and its defense of the movie. I doubt many of you have heard of it either, but I wanted to put this link because I believe this is a very well thought out position of how we as Christians should be in the world, but not of the world. I am tired of Christians who have a couple of hot button issues that when pushed automatically mean boycott (I am tired of Christians boycotting period) and I am tired of the only public face of the Church being one of hate. If you have a minute check out this article it might help you in some discussions that are sure to come up in the future.

ALL movies are manipulative…..calling Brokeback effective only because it is manipulative angers me! Storytelling is manipulative in its very nature. You draw people along by unveiling a story….a story created to manipulate the reader/watcher,
