I like video games, even though I am no longer very good at them. I don’t have the time that it takes to keep my skills up to snuff. But from time to time I find a game that just fits me. I am still not any good at them most of the time, but they just feel right. Ninja Gaiden for Xbox was a game like that. The controls just felt right. The way that you moved through the world was fluid and spontaneous. Up until today that was my favorite example of game play (even though it was as hard as crap)
But now everything has changed. I don’t know yet about the story of Gears of War. I haven’t played enough to know if the difficulty is too much or if the multi-player is any good. But I have ran up to a low wall, crouched behind it, fired wildly over the top of it to pin down the enemies, popped up to take an aimed shot, and then popped back down into cover again all in a way that feels natural. I don’t really know how to explain it, but the game just “feels” right. Of course the graphics are out of this world as well.
My only complaint is that I have a million things to do and I won’t be able to play it as often as I want.
