Hours upon Hours

I was trying to figure out just how many hours I put into the 2 videos I made for our choir concert tonight. I know that I watched the first 34 episodes of The Office and the first season of 30 Rock with my Netflix Xbox thing, and I didn’t even bring that into my room until Monday of last week. There were quite a few hours before that. In the end I think they looked pretty decent, and I hope added to the overall worship experience. I also learned how to use the basics of After Effects and Adobe Premier. So that was an added bonus.

In the end what took the longest was finding all of the elements. I was asked to work on 2 fast songs which require more stuff that slow songs. When the music is moving quickly you can’t really stop and do a slow pan on on picture for very long. I spent some serious time browsing through stock footage that I own as well as stuff on the web. I need a computer break soon, and I think I will get one next weekend. I have to do stuff for this Wednesday night and finish up a LifeWay deadline and then I will be finished until New Years. It helps me to work if I have a goal for when I can stop.

It’s amazing how quickly the hours add up when you are working on things like that. What were the fast songs you were making the video for?

They are songs you wouldn’t know from the "Joyful and Triumphant" cantata by Word Music. If you just happened to have heard that musical the songs were "Joyful and Triumphant" and "When Love Came Down".
