I am such an information junkie. I love to learn new things and new skills, especially when it is stuff on the computer. For our lesson this week on being part of the family of God (using the great Chick Flick A Walk in the Clouds) I wanted a graphic that used the concept of being rooted into the family. I found this tutorial for doing a sort of growing word picture and I thought that it would be cool to try to do.
In the end I made all of the word, leaves, vines, and bug in Illustrator. I also made the gravel too, but in a separate file. Then I pulled it into Photoshop and stuck it over a darkened paper background. Then I place the tree graphic underneath it. Finally I used a bevel on the words to give it more of a pop. (this is the first time I have used the bevel in years, but I like the way it looks.) Anyway, here is the graphic.
very cool.
we actually purchased that same istockphoto for our "roots" series.
here is what our graphic turned out as.
Thanks, I can’t believe I forgot to link to your blog. I have remedied the situation now. Also, I love the "wordle" thing. I will be playing with that lots in the future I am sure.
That looks awesome! And the ladybug…well, that’s just my favorite thing about it…’cause I love ladybugs! But, seriously it really looks great.
