I am sitting in Mellow Mushroom with my boys. The little one is sleeping. The three-year-old is coloring a picture. He just made me look at at it and then said, “it’s beautiful isn’t it?”
Of course I said it was, but as always it got me thinking. We never really grow older than this boy looking for approval. We may not beg people to tell us our work is beautiful but we long to know that we are valuable and that we are creating things of value.
That is the wonderful thing about thinking of God as daddy. He looks at us and assures us we are valuable and not only that He invites us to be a part of His mission; He invites us to do things that have value.
Ain’t God good.
