Alright, I never really paid much attention to music growing up. It wasn’t until college that I started really listening, and by that time I was doing strictly Christian music so I am sort of coming late to the whole music party, but now that I have a guitar I feel like I need to be brought up to date “the classics.”
The problem is that I don’t really have any idea what the classics are: enter ITUNES and their essentials line. They have arranged 75 of the best songs (that they have to offer) in just about any genre I could want. I am really jonesing for the “classic rock” and “punk” complete set. There is nothing quite like letting a capitalist institution tell me what is cool and worthy to listen to. Isn’t that how all of the world works.
Sarcasm aside I am really digging the whole essentials thing. If you check it out be sure to check out the comedy one too. If you have a few extra dollars pick up the Best of Bill Cosby for his wonderful old bits on Noah and Fat Albert.
