Alright I mentioned yesterday that VBS is kicking my butt. I feel like I am walking underwater most of the day. At least finally tomorrow I can take a break and catch my breath from camp. Now that I am past my youth lesson I should be able to relax a bit and maybe share some of the cool stuff that I am learning and that we saw at camp.
One of the biggest things is a fresh look at salvation and what that really means. I think we as a church have really done people a disservice. As we have tried to make the gospel something easy to understand and to accept we have robbed it of truth and to a certain degree the mystery that makes it so wonderful. Somewhere in the whole scheme of things we have taken a surrender to Lordship and changed it into a transaction where we give God our confession and He gives us eternal life.
Alright so that didn’t make that much sense, but I am not thinking clearly yet. I will flesh this out a little more in the next few days.
One more quick “Engaging Worship” update. I got my comp copies today so now I have like 4 of these books floating around that I don’t really know what to do with, but every time I look at them I smile so I guess that is pretty cool.
You are spot on about the salvation issue. That was good to read.
If you’re wanting to give away one of those books, I’m willing to send like $5 for one!
