Life Report

Sorry, I know it has been a few days, but I have been swamped with work this weekend. And since no one since Rebecca Radioactive Muskrat is throwing an donations my way I can’t blow off that job to write here. But here is a quick overview of all that is going on.

I Have Been Writing:
For the first time since college I would imagine I have been actually spending time doing writing practice. It has been hard, but fun falling back into the work of writing–trying to teach my mind to once again go to those places that are scary and draw the bones out into the light. I am very proud of myself because I managed to actually set aside time to write every day this week.

I Am Going to Write a SS Unit for Lifeway:
The reason I have been trying to limber my mind up is because I am going to be actually writing a Sunday school unit for Lifeway coming up soon. I have to go to the writers conference at the first of November and then I will be writing all through December and January. I don’t know yet what my unit will be about or what month it will come out, but it will be in the Life Focus material in Spring of 2008.

I Had a Major Art Team Moment This Week:
One of the cool things that I have always envisioned for our art team came about this week. We made a video for the sermon tomorrow. I am not exactly sure how well it turned out yet (I haven’t started editing it) but it was something very simple. We made our own video for "Don’t Worry Be Happy" for a sermon from Philippians. I almost feel like we are really planning creative worship. Well, almost.

We Had Another of our Post Game Dance Things:
It was last night and there was a large crowd there and most of them danced and had fun and all of them heard about the love of Jesus so I would call it a success, but I can’t figure out why every time I try to do something like this someone else throws a party. I think it is a conspiracy against me. Not against God or the church or anything, but against me personally. Well, maybe I am just paranoid.

There are Four Cardinals outside of My Window Right Now:
It is a male and three females. Maybe it is because I grew up cheering for the Mayfield Cardinals, but I love those birds. I think their small triangular beaks standing out yellow against the black is cool looking. Of course I like Meadowlarks when I see them too because I lived on Meadowlark so don’t trust my judgement.

My Sister is Having a Baby Too:
I got in trouble last week for announcing the new Andy addition and not talking about Sumer’s little one. I have no excuse why that is true, but Sumer is due at the beginning of January and they are having another little boy. Seriously, I have no idea why I never mentioned that.

Hello everybody, I have just happened to stumble on this site while searching for "the creative art of worshipping God". I write worship poems and other things. Is this a site that we can share our work on?
Well, would love to chat and share. I am here in Nassau, Bahamas.
    God Bless, Rana

Check out the "areopagus" link on the left to find a place to add your own worship ideas.
