There is a ton of drama going on at my church right now. We are about to elect our pastor search committee and everyone is excited and anxious at the same time. I have been involved in several in the hall meetings and a couple of formal meetings this week. So my stress level has been fluctuating.
But in the middle of all of that drama I got to take an hour to sit out by the lake and just remember–remember that there is a creator of the universe who is bigger than me–remember that He is in control and I don’t have to be–remember that He cares about me and, as long as I do what He calls me to do, I don’t have to worry about all of the other “shoulds” in my life.
Those moments of quiet peace before God are far too rare in this world, but yesterday I had a chance to remember why they are so important.
