October in Alabama

I went out to prayer breakfast this morning (one of the rare morning that I am out of the house before 7 am) and it was cold. I almost turned back around to get a jacket. I thought, “Dang, what is it doing so cold?” And then I remembered that it is already October. Does anyone else feel like they pulled 3 or 4 months out of the middle of the year?

Of course now it is warm here, hot even if you stand in the sun. But I am not in the sun. I am sitting beside the water in the shade of a tall tree with the wind blowing back my hair and making my screen shake a little There is a herring searching for fish along the bank off to my left and a goose just landed on the rocks across the water from me. Top all of that off with the fact that someone set up a wireless network that I am piggybacking on right now and I have to say that this is one beautiful day.
