Good Friday Ideas: Weighted

Good Friday Ideas: Weighted

Creative Worship, Good Friday Ideas, Worship ideas
You will need 1 of these fishing weights for every person in your group. If you have the budget you can get bigger weights. Give them to volunteers so they can be passed out quickly in your message. You will also need some ankle weights and a heavy backpack to put on for demonstration. Read: Galatians 3:10–13 Galatians 3:10-13 10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law is cursed. 11 Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live by faith. 12 But the law is not based on faith; instead, the one who does these things will…

Video Daily Devotions for Students

Video Daily Devotions for Students

Youth Pastoring
So I am on this constant crusade for Instagram to take over Snapchat. I'm not a fan of Snapchat for a myriad of reasons, so I am always trying to push Instagram to the forefront*. When they added the very weird IGTV service I thought I would try it out and ran daily devotions for a while, but eventually I lost steam and moved on. Mainly because the tools I needed were hard and the devotions took too much time out of my day. Community Slowly

Youth Pastoring
If you will check out yesterday's post you will see that I am struggling to find the balance between creating community and creating a safe space. Youth Pastoring
I am going to jump back into blogging for a bit to talk about some of the things that are happening in our youth group. Some quick facts: Our "core" group is about 10 studentsWe are down to this number because of the changing demographics of our church (there are more families with young kids than with teenagers. We have a few more kids who should be part of that core, but their parents aren't very faithful either, so that causes some issues getting the kids to church. We have our typical Wednesday night and Sunday night Bible study times. Wednesdays is when we have the band traditionally Sunday nights were for deeper Bible study. This past semester (after school started until December) we started having a larger number of…

Good Friday Idea (Cut Off)

Good Friday Idea (Cut Off)

Good Friday Ideas, Worship ideas
I wanted to brainstorm a few new Good Friday ideas in the run up to Easter this year. There are a couple of reasons, one of the biggest ones is that Good Friday is probably the most searched term that leads people to Nailscars.com, but also because Good Friday is a perfect moment to introduce creative elements into your worship gatherings. This idea is still in its infancy, but I trust that there are some creative people who can turn it into something amazing. Isolated: When we talk about Jesus and the cross we tend to talk about the whips and the pain and the nails and shame and all of the physical side of the crucifixion. What I think we focus on too rarely is the spiritual side of…
