Parent Newsletter

I started a Parents of Teenagers Newsletter this week. The idea was to have information about our ministry, but also have articles and devotions that were geared towards parents. I was just looking for little ideas that they could do to help bring up spiritual conversations in their homes. I found a couple of things in some back issues of “Living with Teenagers” but ended up writing much of it myself.

Does anyone know a place where I could grab some idea for my next one? Anyone have ideas of their own that they would like to share?

Youth Specialties has a parent newsletter that they allow you to send, and maybe even copy some of, to your parents – http://www.youthspecialties.com/free/email/parent_newsletter/ .

Also, Group has the Parent Link, which costs, but it’s a customizable newsletter that you can send – http://www.theparentlink.com/ . The YM at the church I interned at a few years ago used it, and it was pretty good.

I’m actually trying to start a parent newsletter, too (just put a sign up link on our site earlier today). I think I’m going to help keep the parents updated on what’s going on, encourage them to be the spiritual leaders of their teenagers, and maybe put some links to articles and maybe a few things for the Youth Specialties newsletter.
