Renewed Passion

I know that my life is a little crazy right now (with a new baby and all) but that hasn’t kept me from realizing that I have lost my passion. I haven’t lost my passion for ministry or my passion for writing or my passion for hanging out with students or my passion for being a youth pastor. I have lost my passion for God and so it feels like I am going through the motions in all the other areas.

Lord, restore my passion for you.

I feel the same way… I love being a youth pastor but having two babies at home and dealing with all the kids in church has taken a tow on me. I really need to get my intimate relationship with God back. I feel like I can’t breathe properly, like a fish out of water. I need you Lord.

Passion is a burning fire. It must find expression. I have found in the ebb and flow of life that at times passion is hot. At other times it smolders. The question is not so much what you will do to ignite the flame but will you put yourself in a place that will allow God to re-ignite the flame.

Finding that "place" is not always easy. Are we willing to nurse the embers? To wait for His breath to fan those embers to flame? I find myself craving His breath . . .

I have appreciated your passion and your willingness to share. I have often wondered where to find more of your stories and drama.

May you sense His holy breath fresh on you.
