Life has been a little hectic around here so I have been neglecting my blog responsibilities. I am tired of working on winter retreat so I will take some time and give you guys a bit of an update.

Our big Winter Retreat (The Adventures of God and Stickboy) is next Saturday-Monday. I head up to start setting things up next Thursday though so I have to get on the ball. Doing your own retreat is a whole lot of fun once you are there. I love being the shapers of the worship and of the whole feel of what goes on. But all of the extra work leading up to it really is a pain. I guess that is the price that we must pay for full control.

I really hope that next year we can make the turn from just our 3 churches and finally involve some other churches, but that would make for some more stress. It is one things to mess up when we are all working on stuff, but when people are just paying for a good retreat then that is a whole different ball game.

But if you live within driving distance of Camp Ascca in Jackson’s Gap, AL and would like to be involved with us next year drop me a line and I will be sure to keep you informed.

Great reading about your retreat. As you may know, ASCCA has a new Web site at and we are blogging, too.

Would you be willing to write about your experiences and how retreats work for youth ministries there? We’d love to hear from you.
