Sometimes little things make me smile. But to me this is a very big thing. Rarely in this business do you get tangible proof that things are sinking in, and then out of no where something will happen and you will see that just maybe the things you say matter. On our student web site one of the student writers posted the following entry. I haven’t stopped smiling since I read it. She is speaking about our 2 week water only fast called the H2O Project.
I understand how hard the last 2 weeks have been without caffeine, trust me. But I loved every minute of these past 2 weeks, and it empowers me like I’m sure it empowers everyone else to get out and change the world. I write this to tell you that it has made me think about the people that are outside of this town.
I have been researching organizations that will help people all over the world with different problems ranging from HIV/AIDS to being in a caste systems. I encourage you to do the same. Anyways, here are some great sites to help you get started saving the world:
World Food Programme: http://www.wfp.org/english/
World Poverty: http://www.one.org
St. Jude Children’s Hospital:http://www.tg.stjude.org/
World Vision Cananda http://www.worldvision.ca/home/ and many more.
Plus, the http://www.nnpdf.org/ Disease Foundation that we know about and strive to help with the fishing tournament for Lee. Sorry to contrive a plan for everyone to reach out, but it’s for the good of human kind. :)
