I know this doesn’t really effect the way that you read this, but I am typing very softly. The power cord on my laptop has developed a short and now the slightest bump causes me to go to battery power. This wouldn’t be such a big deal, but I am all out of battery power right now so I am hoping to keep things still while I type out this blog entry. The worst part of the thing is that I can’t seem to find where the short is so I don’t know what part of the cord to wiggle to get it working again. I need a new laptop! Anyone wanting to donate to Nailscars.com laptop fund I will call you a saint.
Anyway, I did a lot of work this afternoon, but I have mainly been just watching TV with my wife tonight, so all my comments are about TV shows. Let me start by simply showing the photo’s below.
Aside from that I want to talk a bit about Prison Break. Tonight the main guy saw some of the residual effects of his actions and how his tunnel focus on his goal caused someone else to get killed. I don’t know how much they are going to have that effect him (because of Baseball we have to wait 3 weeks to see) but I do know that most movies or TV shows totally gloss that over. It is good to see someone at least in a small way showing how thinking only of yourself can cause problems.
I think tunnel vision is one of the biggest problems that we face. Most people are more concerned with what is happening to them to look up and see the concerns of others. This is a world wide problem, but it is a huge problem in youth ministry. I think if I had one request from God it would be that students could see, really see, the people around them. I think if I had one request for me it would be the same thing.
