Unlocking the Truth about Superman Returns

I don’t know if you know are aware of this but there is a movie coming out this summer that could destroy all of the hard work that you as a pastor have done to keep your church from the truth. Now we all know that there is really one and only “super” man and that was Jesus, but those pagans in Hollywood are trying to convince us that there is another “super” man who can do more than just walk on water this “super” man can fly.

Well that is just not true, but I am worried that the average church person isn’t smart enough to discern truth from fictions so I am starting a 12 week study entitled “The Superman Code: Learning the Real truth” I hope you all will attend.

If this post is satirical in nature, a big High-Five, Quite amusing and out of left field.

It’s all about authorial intent. It’s clear what Dan Brown was trying to do with his novel. Superman is something else entirely.

Dan Brown was trying to sell novels. What cracks me up isn’t really the church’s response to this whole thing it is more the general population who seems to think that there is some big cover up about "other" gospels. Most of the stuff that isn’t pure fiction is stuff that I have known for a long time and just assumed most people also knew.

Of course a lot of the stuff about the church history I agree with. I think sometimes we need to look at some of the stuff that was done in the name of Jesus and take ownership for it and apologize.

Hey Shane have you read Angels & Demons also by Dan Brown. I thought that book showed more negativity to the church than the Davinci Code. But they are both works of fiction.

You know, I guess this is bad of me to say, but I REALLY liked The DaVinci Code, as well as Angels and Demons. I even liked his other two books. If you throw out all the church stuff and just read them as works of fiction, they really can be nice little page-turners. I guess I’m just a simple man, but I thought they were all pretty fun.

Maybe Dan Brown will be reading Shane’s site before he writes his next novel. I am sure he could find something interesting from here to write about. So Andy have you seen the movie?

I haven’t seen the movie, no. Probably won’t until it comes out on DVD. I don’t think I’ve been to a movie theater in over a year…I really need to get out more, huh?

I am jealous that Shane has been to the movies. I can’t remember the last movie that I have seen at the theatre that wasn’t animated. Just wait Shane you too will be watching the latest Disney releases.
