When Youth Pastors Dream

In case you are wondering that is Duct tape. I don’t remember who’s blog I was reading about duct taping kids to a wall, but it seemed like a great idea to me. The game was see who’s person could stay up the longest, but none of ours stayed even for a moment. It was still fun. One note of caution that I got from the other guy who did it was that the tape has to stay below the shoulders or someone could get choked. I really wish they would have stayed up there, this seems like a good way to take care of youth who talk during the lesson.

There was a spiritual point too. We were talking about supporting each other and holding each other373871-252073-thumbnail.jpg up. So we talked about how you can try all sorts of other ways to stay up, but everyone needs someone to help them out from time to time.

Um…I’m not the engineer in the crowd, but I don’t think I would have tried to duct tape them to BRICK! Something smoother and less porous would probably be more successful. Just a thought…

I heard this one also and they recommended that you use a block wall and each team needed 3-4 rolls of duct tape. Great way to connect the activity with the lesson. I am sure they enjoyed this.

I’ve done this successfully before and yeah, can’t tape to brick. We’ve also learned to be careful about tape up between the legs. lol

Tried it before and they lasted all of 11 seconds and she only weighed about 85-90lbs, but it sure was fun!!!
