Try this youth activity the next time you want a lesson on team work or their role in the body of Christ. We used it this week to illustrate how each person is needed to do their part.
Materials Needed: 1 piece of “Hot Wheels” track for each student. You can purchase a pack of 5 extra pieces of track from Wal-Mart for $1.79. You will also need one Matchbox or Hot Wheels car for every 5 students.
Set Up: Get your group into even teams of 4 or 5. Designate a line in your room as the start and a line as the finish. Alternatively you could place a cone at the finish line that students will have to move around and come back to the same start point.
The Activity: Students must move the car along the path that you have designated. They must pass the car from track to track. As each person passes the car he then moves to the end of the line to be read to get the car again.
Teams may not walk while the car in on their track or touch the car in any way (this includes with their fingers beside the tracks). Cars must be on their wheels at all times.
If any of these rules are broken or if the car falls and touches the ground the team will have to go back to the beginning and start the course again. (you may need adults to judge restarts for you)
