Youth Product Reviews

Just wanted to point out a couple of products that I am using right now. I am just bought a few sketches from "The Skit Guys" I really like the way their 2 man stuff. It is very quick and funny, and if you have the time to work out the timing can be effective. I don’t always like the point to their skits, (God saying, "That makes me sad" is something I don’t like present. I know there are things that upset God throughout the old testament, but there is just something scary about saying that our actions make God sad, because the next step is that our actions make God not like us, but that is another blog entry) but the rhythm to them is so spot on. I really want my drama team to get some practice with these types of sketches.

The other thing I am using right now is FLOOD volume 2. It is a DVD driven curriculum from Serendipity House. I am teaching the first one tomorrow night so I will let you know how it goes. Just as a preliminary I really like the way it looks. It is very question driven which is a way that I like to teach. I don’t do it much anymore now that we have grown larger, but it is a fun way to teach.

To add more to the Skit Guys thing: We started practicing them tonight and I have to say that we found 3 or 4 that were spot on. If you check out their web site I love "How Big is Your God" and "The Chisel Skit" are really great, and there are others that we are planning to use. It is good for us since we only have 4 people in our drama team.

WE use the Skit Gusy scripts quite a bit, they seem to really get the most laughs. Me and another guy did the "ways we pray skit" for the whole church and it went over very well!
